We can help you with your MULTAQ lawsuit. The prescription medication MULTAQ has been linked to an increased risk in liver damage, heart failure, stroke and sudden death. This drug is used to treat arrhythmia, and has been linked to a number of serious health risks, including the worsening of existing arrhythmia.

MULTAQ and Arrhythmia
Although MULTAQ is used to treat arrhythmia, one of the serious side effects can be the worsening of existing arrhythmia or the triggering of new arrhythmia. MULTAQ can slow the time that it takes an electrical impulse to spread throughout the heart muscle and can cause the heart to beat erratically (ventricular fibrillation). Warning signs of MULTAQ-related arrhythmia can include:
- Dizziness
- Lightheadedness
- Fainting spells
- Very rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
- Very slow heart rate (bradycardia)
During ventricular fibrillation, the heart stops pumping blood to the brain. Those suffering a ventricular fibrillation may collapse or lose consciousness. It can also lead to sudden cardiac death. Those warning signs include chest pain, nausea, rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath.
MULTAQ and Liver Damage
In 2011, a warning to patients was released about the risk of developing liver issues following the use of the drug MULTAQ. This includes patients who were not at risk for liver damage prior to taking the medication. Previously, the warning on the drug label only informed patients who were already at risk for liver damage. The warning signs that MULTAQ may be causing serious liver damage or even liver failure include:
- Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting
- Upper-right stomach pain
- Yellow skin or yellow eyes (jaundice)
- Very dark urine
